Air, Water and Earth: understand Origin’s elements
Which defense receives an attack?
An Air fighter uses the opponent’s Air defense, Water uses Water defense and Earth uses Earth defense. This applies regardless of the defender’s element. Read all three defense values: a card’s element alone does not tell you which attacks it resists.
Example: 20 attack against 8 defense
Without special effects, an Air attack of 20 against Air defense of 8 deals 12 base damage: 20 − 8 = 12. That opponent’s Earth defense is not used for this attack. Equipment, relics and other effects can change the situation; the replay shows the battle result.
No automatic elemental triangle
Air does not always beat Water or Earth. Stats, fighter order and equipment determine the outcome. Mixing elements varies which enemy defenses you attack, but does not guarantee that your own deck can withstand every attack.
Choose an improvement that helps
After a loss, identify the defense that failed. Compare another fighter or a compatible accessory, including any penalties. The collection’s element filter shows the matching fighters and accessories with an effect for that element.
