Origin PvP: matchmaking, Renown and Revenge
Start your first ranked battle
Choose 5 to 10 fighters, equip compatible accessories and arrange their order. Save and activate a valid Origin deck. Start a search from PvP battles: Cartoria selects an opponent and resolves the duel automatically. You do not play cards during combat.
Who do you face?
In normal ranked PvP, Cartoria searches by Renown among players with an active competitive deck. The search widens within matchmaking limits when needed. You cannot pick a target from a profile or the rankings. If no eligible opponent is available, try again later.
One attack per opponent each PvP day
You can attack the same player once per PvP day, based on Paris time. Each direction is separate: if you attack Paul, Paul can still attack you. Revenge uses this same allowance; it does not add an extra battle.
Use Revenge after a defensive loss
If an opponent beats you in normal ranked PvP and you lose Renown, you may receive Revenge if you have not attacked them that day. Open it from history or the notification, choose a valid existing deck and confirm. You face their active deck at launch. The right expires at the end of the PvP day or if you fight them through normal ranked matchmaking first. Revenge cannot generate another Revenge.
Renown is still at stake
A ranked win awards Renown; a loss can cost Renown. Revenge uses the same calculation and does not automatically refund your original loss: you can lose again. Ranked attacks you launch, including Revenge, count toward relevant quests and monthly eligibility. Defending does not replace these attacks.
Test a deck and learn from replays
A friendly battle lets you try a composition without changing Renown and stores no interactions. In a ranked replay, check which fighter falls first, which defense is used and what your equipment does. At the result, authorized Origin players can react or comment before adjusting their next deck.
